Lentolaivue 24:n kolmas lentue (oranssi potkuri ja numero) sai nimen Ritarilentue koska loppujen lopuksi kaikki ko lentueessa lentäneet olivat Mannerheimristin Ritareita.
Aluksi 3. lentueen päällikkönä toimi Jorma Karhunen ja kun Karhunen ylennettiin Laivue 24:n komentajaksi, Hans Wind sai 3. lentueen päällikkyyden.
BW-366 Pilot: Jorma Karhunen Time: Continuation War / Finland Jorma Karhunen's Victories All: 31 1/2 Winter War: 9 7/12 (Fokker DXXI) BW-366 / Karhunen: 14 Squadron 24 Flight 3 (orange spinner and orange number on tail) was so called Ritarilentue (Knight Flight) because at the end all it's pilots were Knights of Mannerheim Cross.
Mannerheim Cross was Finlands highest decoration.
First Jorma Karhunen was the Flight-Leader, but as he get promoted to Squadron (24) Leader, Hans Wind became flight 3 Flight-Leader.
