Vuosina 1987 - 1991 MARVEL julkaisi neljässä upeassa 4-väripainetussa, kovakantisessa kirjassa 40 ensimmäistä The Amazing Spider-Man lehteä + lisäksi kaksi vuosikirja-painosta eli Annualia.
Nämä kirjat täydensivät kattavalta osalta Hämmästyttävän Hämähäkin alkuvaiheet lähes Ihmesarjaan asti. Kun vielä Sarjakirja 98:ssa julkaistiin numero 41, oli Ihmesarjan (n:ot 42-79) loppuun sekä 1993 tilaajalahja n:o 80 saattanut seikkailun täydelliseksi numeroon 80 asti.
